Check the Estimated Freight Cost

Before you submit your Shipment Booking form, make sure to check the Estimated Freight Cost to see how much you’ll be paying based on the information you’ve provided. It’s easy – just click the check Estimated Freight Cost button and you’ll see a breakdown of the costs associated with exporting your goods. The breakdown includes details such as:

  • Volumetric Weight Converter (L xWxH/5000): Volumetric weight refers to the overall size of a parcel. it is calculated by multiplying the length, width, and height of a parcel (in cm) and dividing that figure by 5000.
  • Freight Rate – Avg. $/kg. (origin-destination): Freight rate refers to the price charged for transporting goods from one location to another by a carrier. It is calculated based on factors such as the weight and volume of the goods being transported, the distance between the origin and destination, the mode of transportation, and any additional services required.
  • Chargeable Weight (KG): Chargeable weight is the weight used by carriers to determine the cost of shipping goods. It can be either the actual weight or the volumetric weight of the shipment, whichever is greater.
  • Chargeable Total Cost: This is the total cost of the freight rate multiplied by the chargeable weight.
  • Air Freight Surcharge (ASC): This is an additional fee charged by a carrier for the transportation of goods on a particular route or during a specific period of time. It is calculated by multiplying 1.21 USD by the Chargeable weight.  
  • Terminal charges (CHA): Terminal charges are fees charged by a transportation terminal for handling and processing cargo or freight.
  • Air Waybill Fee – Standard: This is a charge for the preparation and processing of an air waybill, which is a document that serves as a contract between the shipper and the carrier for the transportation of goods by air.
  • Estimated Total Freight Cost: This is the estimated total cost of all the above costs mentioned above.

 

Import
Check the Total Customs Charges

For importing goods, check the Total Customs Charges which include:

  • Shipment CIF cost: It is the total cost of the goods, including the cost of the products, insurance, and freight charges required to transport the goods to the destination port while the goods are in transit. 
  • Avis d’ Arrive (Arrival notice document fee): This is a charge for the preparation and processing of an arrival notice, which is a document that notifies the consignee (recipient) of a shipment that their goods have arrived at the destination port or terminal.
  • Customs warehouse Rent Fee: This is a charge for the use of a customs-bonded warehouse, which is a secure facility that is authorized by the customs authorities to store goods that are awaiting clearance through customs.
  • Agency fee: This is a charge for handling the logistics and documentation associated with the movement of goods across borders.
  • Airline Spilt Fee: This refers to a charge levied by airlines for the handling of cargo or freight during air transportation.
  • Estimated Tax /Duties: This refers to the amount of taxes and duties that are likely to be charged by the customs authorities on imported goods. They’re calculated based on the value of the goods being imported, as well as the country of origin and the type of goods.
  • Total Customs Charges: Total Customs Charges: This is the estimated total customs charges, which include all of the costs listed above, that you must pay to import your goods.
